It has been a few days
It has been a few days since I have had time to get on here and post anything so if anyone reads this my appologies for the lack of content. It seems that whenever the weather gets nicer I tend to spend more time outside and less time on the computer, which isn’t a bad thing in my oppinion. Nothing new has really happened except the weather has been nice enough to pull the track bike out again and get ready for the season which starts next week! I have been going out every chance I can to find my track legs and I think I have found them. I have done a few road races one Thursday night Rose Garden Circuit race and a Monday PIR which were both pretty fun and helped me realize some of my strengths and find those weaknesses I still need to work on. We got our new Team Cthulhu Kits which I think are pretty bad ass in every way possible. I wish I would have ordered more pieces of the new one! Oh well More posts coming soon.

Calling you out Duck!
Racing is quickly coming to the NW but it seems to have already began at other velodromes. If you are in the area of Encino, CA make sure to head out to the Wed night races. Ride the Black Line put this short together to get people excited! All you Bakersfield people better get down and do it…especially you Tony….I better hear some stories of you crushing it!
Opening doors
When one door opens up do you walk through it and take the chance of the unknown or do you shut it and play it safe? I know what I would do, but the question is do you?
Feet of Fury by Pat Benson
Photo Credit: Pat BensonI have been drooling over photos that Pat Benson has taken for a while and decided to finally share them with you. Here is one of my favoirtes I have come across from The Encino Velodrome in Encino, CA.

Easter Egg Hunting

This is from the Easter Egg Hunt we did at Krugers Farm. One of my favorite shots from the day!
Backyard Roller work out

Now that I fixed the bearings and axle set up on my Zipp Disc I wanted to check it out and make sure everything was rolling smoothly. So I brought the rollers out back and did a nice little sprint interval work out since I couldn’t get out to Alpenrose today. Hoping I will be able to make it out to open training tomorrow afternoon otherwise I will be hitting it bright and early in the morning. Getting so excited for track season!
Marymoor Velodrome Association Presents: 2012 Pre-season Kick-off Party
I will be in the Seattle area for this and think I may be attending! If you are out in the area I would suggest going and supporting one of the nations Velodromes!
Oh and don’t forget about the swap meet! Bring your old track stuff you don’t have any use for and find some new stuff as well!!!
Salmon Fountain Black and white

I am loving taking black and white photos again and thought I would share this. I shot this with my iPhone while I was waiting for Rob to shoot photos of his bike.
Rob’s Makino Track Bike

Today I went and met up with my friend Rob because he has been wanting to get some pictures of his new bike taken before it gets totally thrashed as it is his daily commuter. This bike has a purple sparkle to it that was hard to capture but I did the best I could and I am pretty happy with how the photos turned out! Hope you like them Rob.

And if anyone in the PDX area needs photos taken of anything please let me know I work for beer or anything you want to provide. I am just looking to build up a solid portfolio.

Alpenrose Velodrome Fund Update

Candi Murray posted a few stats about the Alpenrose Velodrome Repair cost and even with everyones donations OBRA has not reached the total cost of the repair. According to Candi The total cost of the first phase of repair is $48,000. So far thanks to generous donations OBRA has collected $31,130! Which is great but still not great enough with your help we can get that last $17,000. So with that if you can donate anything please head over to the OBRA.org website and click the “Donate to Repair Fund” under the Alpenrose Velodrome header on the main page. Even if you can spare $1 anything helps and would mean the world to myself and hundreds of others who travel across the country to race at this velodrome here in Portland, OR. So again please head over to the OBRA website and help out in anyway you can, and if you can’t donate financially please spread the word because maybe you will reach the right person and they can help out!
One last thing! OBRA is a 501c Non profit Organization and all donations are tax deductible.
